Peas Please

Hattie had her 4 month checkup today. She weighs in at 14 lbs. 11 oz. so she's almost doubled her birthweight. She's in the 95th percentile for height - which I guess she gets from her daddy. She also got four shots, which was not fun. We got the go ahead for Hattie to start eating real food! Well, at least mashed up real food. So we are starting with peas.

The Exersaucer - a.k.a. Mission Control

Hattie is big enough now to command her own Mission Control. She hits every button, spins around, and just overall looks like a big kid. Thanks Great Aunt Janet! She also got a kick out of watching her daddy put the thing together (which took almost an hour!)

Guess Who...

As Liz and I were driving home last night, we noticed that Hattie was being quiet...which she usually is not while in the car. When we got her out we noticed she had pulled her hat down over her eyes, yet quite content. Don't worry, she could still breathe.

Our Visit to The Domain

This past Thursday & Friday we took a quick trip to Sewanee, TN - The University of the South. Sewanee is a beautiful area - 10,000 acres owned by the Episcopal Church, known simply as "the domain." It's located in the mountains about an hour west of Chatanooga and an hour and a half east of Nashville. Sewanee is at the top of the list for places we're considering going to seminary next fall. As we departed, Elizabeth and I both adopted a Sewanee tradition - we tapped the roof of the car as we passed the gates so a Sewanne angel would guide & protect us until we again returned and released the angel back into the domain.

Hattie has decided to take control of her feeding situation. Unfortunately, the bottle gets flung across the room sometimes.

They Taste So Good!

Hattie has discovered her fingers and has become very adept at getting them to her mouth without hitting herself in the face. She can often be heard during the day smacking contentedly on one, two, or three fingers. Sometimes just fingers aren't enough and she goes for the whole fist.

Funny Noises

Hattie has a stage between being happy and being fussy. You can usually stretch out the happy time a bit more by doing things to make her laugh. Enjoy the video.
